What to Expect

Here are some guidelines for your first appointment:
  • Avoid Creams or Lotions – Please do not apply any cream or lotion to your back on the day of the initial visit.
  • Arrival Time – Please arrive 10-15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time to allow for the registration process.
  • Time Required for your Visit – The initial visit typically takes 1½-2 hours but may take less time depending on your history and any tests ordered by our physicians.
  • First Stop - Nurse Assessment – After the registration process is completed, the nursing staff will bring you into an examination room where they will check basic vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, height, weight) and then take a brief personal allergy survey.
  • Next - Provider Examination – After the nurse assessment, one of our providers will come in and take a detailed history, perform a relevant physical examination, and then order any appropriate diagnostic tests, which may include allergy skin testing, breathing test, lab work or x-rays.
  • Then - Diagnostic Tests – The allergy skin and breathing tests are performed directly in our office. If lab work or X-rays are necessary, they are typically done at the Corewell William Beaumont Hospital Campuses after your appointment has been completed.
  • Finally - Your Treatment Plan – After the testing is complete, the physician will review the results and outline an appropriate treatment plan.
